This Tesla Model S Plaid Owner Made His Car Sound Like A Cammed Hellcat!

The Tesla Model S Plaid is finally here, and it lives up to Elon’s jaw-dropping performance claims, earning itself the title of world’s quickest car. How fast is it, you ask? This bad boy rockets from 0-60mph in 1.98s and blazes through the quarter-mile in 9.25 seconds at 152.6mph. That’s even faster than a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye.

Still, many enthusiasts are quick to make excuses, claiming that EVs lack that auditory soul, instead sounding like a Jetsons car. Brooks Weisblat took those guys to task by uploading the sound of a cammed Dodge Hellcat engine to his red rocket, and the results are pretty hilarious.

Now you might not know this, but Tesla’s built in September 2019 or later have external speakers, a result of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration requiring silent EVs to omit some sort of sound as a way of alerting pedestrians. Tesla being Tesla, they took things one step further, opening up access to the feature to anyone, so you can drive down the street while making fart noises.

As you can see in the video, all you have to do is load the sound on a USB drive and plug it into your car. The sound simply plays on a loop, it doesn’t actually mimic the actions of the car (acceleration, deceleration, etc). But still, it’s a neat party trick. If I had a Tesla, I’d totally do this and roll into Cars and Coffee, just to see the looks on people’s faces. 🙂
